Oh, please. :P You're smart, Argos. You know people aren't referring to Miranda Richardson popping up again when they discuss the "twist" in The Crying Game.

I knew it when I read this post. Before entering the thread yet after watching the film I did not know there was a twist at all, though.

The Crying Game

This was pretty damn good. I had always heard about The Crying Game as being one of the best British films. It was always in multiple "best of" lists in Empire or online, and I always used to see the VHS for it at the rental store. Rea gives an awesome performance. The music was pretty good too, especially the end credits track, "The Crying Game" (that song from Ace Ventura: Pet Detective that you never bothered to find out the title of), which is also kind of played throughout. I loved the story and the way Neil Jordan (who I'm not a huge fan of, to be honest - I like Interview with the Vampire, hated Byzantium, and Ondine/The Brave One are just average) doesn't pigeon-hole it. It flows and expands more than you think it will. And up until the penis shot, I had my suspicions of "that chick is ugly, she looks like a dude". THANK FUCK I was right. lol. This is probably his best film to-date.

B+
