It was OK. Had a couple of great moments. Hearing the crowd cheering at the rodeo when he's going on about the war, and then says something about only lizards being able to live there for years to come and the audience sounded less enthused.
Also when he stayed over at that bed and breakfast.

I totally impersonated Borat at my last Comedy Sportz match and the audience for the most part ate me, especially our couch who loves Borat (although not from my old fashioned Theatre directer who finds Borat a disgrace to America).
Anyone who can make their couch laugh has gotta be funny...
(That is... if "ate me" is a good thing.)

Not sure why so many praise this film. I liked it, but don't understand the massive love for it.

 Re: Borat
Gave it another watch, for the first time since theatres. I feel pretty much the same that I did when I first saw it.
It's ultra-hilarious, with some sly commentary mixed in with the vulgar, gross-out humour, but it peaks too early (the naked wrestling) and hits a brick wall after that, alternating between some uncomfortably disturbing bits (the frat guys) and some jokes that seem too easy (the evangelical church). The Pamela Anderson bit is great, but so obviously staged that it takes away a little from it. The best parts of this film are not the big comic set-ups, but the little stuff that you barely notice, like the bear's head in the fridge or the rooster squawk when he throws his bag down. Still, one of the funniest films of the past few years.

Re: Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit...
I watched this last weekend for the fourth time, this time with a couple of friends who hadn't seen it. I was still dying of laughter at times. God this was hilarious! I suppose we'll never get another movie like this with Cohen as he's too recognizable now but it's unfortunate. I was disappointed by Bruno but it did have some funny parts. People's reactions to his characters are priceless. Especially in Borat.
I wish I would have actually thought this movie looked good because I should have seen it on the big screen. Would have been so awesome with an audience.

I honestly forgot how funny this movie was until I just recently re-watched it. I don't think I've seen it in its entirety since it came out in 2006 and while I do remember enjoying then I also remember finding it pretty overrated at the time. Surprisingly, though it still holds up and the second half of this movie really caught me off guard with how many times I laughed out loud. The shock humor just works so well and unlike the sequel it doesn't actually feel scripted even if some scenes might be. The reactions from people to Sacha's antics felt a lot more genuine IMO.

This thread reminds of how old this forum is. I mean that in a good way. Wow.
In fact, we are the oldest active boxoffice forum I think (at least that’s what I’ve been preaching on social media lol)
BOR is still around, and older, but the forum isn’t technically active.

Bridesmaids is the funniest movie of all time I think but this one is hilarious from what I remember, I’ll have to rewatch it soon
