 BASEketball
BASEketball Quote: BASEketball is a 1998 American David Zucker comedy starring South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, along with Dian Bachar, Robert Vaughn, Ernest Borgnine, Yasmine Bleeth, and Jenny McCarthy. The movie follows the history of the sport (created by Zucker years earlier) of the same name, from its invention by the lead characters as a game they could win against more athletic types, to its development as a nationwide league sport and a target of corporate sponsorship. This is the only work involving Parker and Stone that was neither written, directed, or produced by them. Hungary, Japan, Australia, Portugal and Finland were only able to see Direct-to-video releases of this film.

 Re: BASEketball
I remember seeing the commercials for this movie, and it looked horrendous.
Then my friend forced us to watch it a year or two later on video, and found it to be surprisingly hilarious.
I actually like it more than Matt and Trey's two other movies.

 Re: BASEketball
This is a pretty underrated comedy that got lost in the shuffle of There's Something About Mary upon theatrical release. It's funny. B

I like the scene in which they mock the movement of sports franchises.
The Houston Oilers went to Tennessee where there is no oil The Minnesota Lakers went to LA where there is no lakes The New Orleans Jazz went to Utah where music is illegal

Funny from beginning to end. There are a couple of gags that fall flat (Dog attacking "Little Bitch" a second time and the fake song in the car come to mind immediately), but the film keeps going and never really stops being funny. One scene that I completely forgot about and is pretty much brilliant, is the scene at the hospital right after Coop fails to get a third home run right before Joey goes into surgery. The comedic timing in that scene is perfect. The rest of the film isn't quite as perfect as that scene, but it's still pretty good.

 Re: BASEketball
A very hit and miss movie, that could have been handled better with better leads, who are certainly much better at animation or voice work, then live action. That being said, it is pretty funny in parts.
