Can you make the Apocalypse funny? I guess you can if you have Rik Mayell as a lunatic SAS commander and a demented USA president


This movie adaptation of the early 80s end of the world satire does capture the sardonic wit of the TV series but also it does a pretty decent job otherwise. More impotently its the best time capsule for the 80s lunacy that overtook the world more then any other film. I guess as a person that never lived that era as an adult I can never understand it, but this movie captures the insane lunacy better then any other out there. And the ending is the dark insanity I love about British comedy.
