Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny
Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny Quote: Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny is a 2006 American comedy/rock musical set in the 1990s, starring Tenacious D, an American satirical rock duo that features Jack Black and Kyle Gass. It is directed by musician and puppeteer Liam Lynch. All three of them are also listed as the writers of the film. The film was released on November 22, 2006. Although publicity for the film included the tagline "The Greatest Motion Picture of All Time", the film was a box-office bomb; since then, the film has garnered a cult following.

The irony isnt lost on me.
It's barely a movie. I have no problems with barely a movie movies (Jay and Silent Bob comes to mind). But TD is just, kinda lame.

I love the D too, but this was depressingly bad.
"It's barely a movie." Indeed. NOTHING works.

Well, it wasn't Spinal Tap or Blues Brothers, but it was an enjoyable film that held my interest. Some good songs, neat cameos, and some very funny moments.
Unfortunately, it does have its missteps too... at times you get the feeling they are just trying way too hard to make a cult movie instead of letting it happen. Also, it borrows heavily from other rock movies that proceeded it, instead of forging a new path.
All in all, I'd give it a B.
