This was Clint Eastwood's directorial debut, and showed that the man had a gift behind the camera right away. It's the story of a DJ in Carmel, California, played by Eastwood, who has a one night stand with a psycho who becomes obsessed with him, and doesn't handle his rejection of her well. Jessica Walter gave a performance in this that was deserving of an Oscar. She seemed genuinely crazy and unbalanced. Donna Mills also had a supporting role as Clint's on again off again girlfriend.
It's better than Fatal Attraction.
