 Re: Spring Breakers
Thought I would see this sometime and well, came across it yesterday. It's a cool film, the first half hour or so, is a bit curious, but also a bit slow to start. That changes however when Franco enters the picture bailing out the girls. This is one of Franco's best roles without a doubt and he elevates the film. The story then also picks up and the film looks pretty good all around. The film is also helped by a great soundtrack by none other than the master Cliff Martinez. As a whole the film has a frenetic- and creative-ness that makes it pretty engaging. However it also leans a bit too much into artsiness, like the recent Love Lies Bleeding did as well, of which this reminded me a bit in terms of the style overall. There seems to be a part, a deeper meaning about the culture and the characters actions perhaps, which I'm not totally getting it feels.
