I basically repeat everything I said about Pistol Opera, only the problem here is not that the film is off-the-wall and incomprehensible, it's that it's totally simplistic and boring. Suzuki does such a great job of making the film highly staged and theatrical that it's a real shame that he's telling such a straight-forward and bland story.
It also feels like there's no real reason for this to be a film at all, as he barely uses any cinematic devices. All the flash and effects are stuff that could be cooked up for a stage play. There's no sense of a movie here.
