Patriot Games Quote: Patriot Games is a 1992 film based on the novel of the same name by Tom Clancy, and is the sequel to the 1990 film The Hunt for Red October. It was released on June 5, 1992 and directed by Phillip Noyce. In the movie, Jack Ryan is played by Harrison Ford, Jack's surgeon-wife, Dr. Cathy Muller Ryan, by Anne Archer and the vengeful and psychopathic Irish Republican volunteer, Sean Miller, is played by Sean Bean.

I really liked it. Ford brought his usual charm, maturity, and badass to the role of Jack Ryan. As an adaptation its probably one of the most brisqued through, but as a thriller its solid throughout. The end in the house and the boat chase was awesome.

Eh... it never gets me thrilled or excited. Far too much talk to work effectively as a thriller, and it's not engrossing enough to work as a drama. Ford is fine, but he made (by far) the two weakest Jack Ryan pics. Stick to Red October or even Sum of All Fears.
