 Lola rennt [Run Lola Run]
Run Lola Run Quote: Run Lola Run (German: Lola rennt, literally Lola Runs) is a 1998 German crime thriller film written and directed by Tom Tykwer and starring Franka Potente as Lola and Moritz Bleibtreu as Manni. The story follows a woman who needs to obtain 100,000 German marks in 20 minutes to save her boyfriend's life. The film's three scenarios are reminiscent of the 1981 Krzysztof Kieślowski film Blind Chance; following Kieślowski's death, Tykwer directed his planned film Heaven.

 Re: Lola Rennt
I just saw this movie for the first time this year - - here's my (all too brief) review from the Foreign & Independent thread: Bradley Witherberry wrote: Run, Lola, Run: Lola, Run, LolaI'm surprised there wasn't a thread for this old gem (Original title: Lola Rennt)... There just aren't enough "alternative reality" movies! (or are there?)Very nicely done, very European - - it's no surprise director Tom Twyker went on to make another fabulous film with Perfume: The Story of a Murderer - - I'm looking forward to see what he makes of The International...

I give it kudos for the innovative style and the solid acting, but I can't help, but not care for each of the "storylines" and for the characters. The movie just seems bland to me and I can never bring myself to care for anything that happens in it.

 Re: Lola Rennt
Very Stylish film, with a very entertaining narrative. As not a big foreign film watcher, this was my favorite until Pan's Labyrinth and Passion. I can understand that theres not much there but conventions but its very innovative storytelling.
