Here's hoping Sharkboy & Lavagirl has a short run before hitting the $5.99 Wal-Mart bin.

That's surprisingly low for Howl's Moving Castle. I thought it could top $500,000.

Only an $11,000 PTA for Howl's Moving Castle does not spell much wide success. A major dissapointment for sure.

If that estimate holds true for Sith, then that is a very very good number.

Why did Smith's only make 51 mill? Did it not increase substantially on Sat?

Nice weekend multiplier for RotS. I was worried it would fall behind AotC.

Wow, I thought it would increase by about 20%...I don't know if that is bad or indifferent. Maybe wOM isn't that strong.

$51,000,000 is probably closer to $49,000,000.

Blockbuster none the less, a flawless opening. Massive hit.

Well happy :)

I don't think WOM is bad. We're getting closer into summer and increases on Saturday are usually substantially weaker.

It probably didn't help Smith(s) with the increase that it was a "Friday night date movie" type of film.

Does anyone find the fact that Lords of Dogtown duplicated its Friday amount on Saturday in its second weekend hilarious? I mean, that's bad enough for a first weekend, but the SECOND weekend...

And it was only in 2850 theaters.

I saw a bunch of sell-outs on Saturday.

Must have had a great theater average.

Why would you think RotS is overestimated? The current estimate has about the same Sunday drop as last weekend. If anything, it might be underestimated, because both TPM and AotC had smaller Sunday drops on this weekend than on the previous one.

I'm afraid it will fall behind AotC when Batman opens and never pull back ahead. I think it's heading toward around $375m. Which is still great, but slightly disappointing to me after the huge opening.
