Typical low count for urban-oriented Honeymooners. I don't see this one passing $15 million for the weekend, but it could hold stronger during the weekdays.

Nice for Mr. and Mrs. Smith, must be a number of theaters lost by Star Wars and the other older holdovers. I wonder if Crash will also significantly loose theaters.

That's a great number for MR. AND MRS. SMITH. I was expecting a little bit of a bigger number for SHARK BOY but it's still good. THE HONEYMOONERS is low, like all urban comedies, it should do okay. I'm kind of surprised the estimate for HIGH TENSION didn't go up to 1500+, oh well.

Yep, it's a great theater count for Mr. and Mrs. Smith. It only needs a $11,600 PTA for $40 million.

It still could. Those are only the actuals for SMITH and HONEYMOONERS so far, SHARK BOY and HIGH TENSION hasn't had their actuals announced yet.

The Honeymooners might not even make $15 million in its entire run. I agree with the other part of your post, though.

I don't see Sharkboy cracking $13M at this point.

We always seem to have a somewhat high-profile family film that bombs in June (Two Brothers last year, Rugrats Go Wild in 2003), and I think it will be this movie for 2005.

Heh. Lions Gate should still make money off of High Tension.

I think High Tension's screen count is going to hurt the legs (the low count for Shaun of the Dead helped it. If it had over 1500 screens, it would've taken a sharp fall in its second weekend) of the film. Kind of like Kung Fu Hustle.

Speaking of which, that movie was in 300 theatres last week, but I don't see it on the list. Did it get pulled completely? I was hoping it could limp the final 700k to make $50m. For god's sake MC2 is still in 200+theatres!

Howls Moving Castle (which goes wider next weekend. If not, then maybe Shark boy, since it was part Disney by the time it was made.

Hello all. I'm new to the boards and look forward to many enjoyable conversations regarding film and other media related topics.

Regarding theater counts, Lions Gate should have done all they could to get High Tension in at least 1,500+ venues. I am also somewhat surprised by the low count for The Honeymooners considering its based on a fairly well-known TV series that was also the basis for The Flintstones, among others.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith should have no problem approaching or perhaps crossing 40 million with that high of a count. It looks like a fun movie and is Doug Liman's follow-up to the smart and entertaining 'Bourne Identity.'
