I read a couple of weeks ago that this was looking to do $40-50m opening weekend. But I just cannot see that happen. Prediction: $18m |

Meh reviews for Never Let Go. That's a shame. Doesn't seem like anyone really cares about it except cinephiles who like Aja's films ... so I no longer see it doing double digits. Probably closer to $5M than $10M. ![]() |

It's at 72%. How's that meh? Deadpool and Wolverine only got 78%. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice got 77%. I'd say for its genre that 72% (providing it maintains it) is pretty decent. It's only at 18 reviews, though, so let's see how it progresses. |

Better than Trap, Night Swim, The Watchers and not far off Speak No Evil, Blink Twice, Abigail. So it's doing all right. |

Watchers and Blink Twice sucked. Abigail was decent but underwhelming. Trap was unintentionally hilarious. Not the company I'd like for a highly anticipated (by me) movie. Damn its been a pretty bad year for horror hasn't it? Longlegs is the only real winner. Edit* Late Night With The Devil was dope too. |

Well I was just pulling some mid-tier genre films from this year |

Quiet place, alien, and Beetlejuice did pretty good too for the genre too. The marketing has been pretty weak for most horror films this year, too many of them look the same. Strangers and night swim did ok too. |

I saw an article today with the headline that Never Let Go is another Longlegs. I don't know how true that is. I didn't bother reading it. It was from Games Radar, and they usually do spammy stuff. RT is 70% after 20. MC is 55% after ten. I really don't think these two grades are bad. They are not going to put people off, and that's all that really matters. |

Hmm...with earlier news indicating a mid 30's opening for T-One, just 26m would be very disappointing. |

This could've been bigger but I think they struggled with making the animation look different enough than the most CGI-d movies ever, and if they went full 2D it would've seemed too much like tv show. |

Nice 3 peat for beetlejuice should finish between jaws and closer to sixth sense. 300 seems unlikely |

Did Disney/Inside Out 2 give up trying to take the #10 all time domestic spot on the Sept 6th weekend? Huge theater drop off that weekend which hurt its chances. It is sooo close. |

Beetlejuice 100m so far international is disappointing considering Burton had success before and Wednesday was popular in foreign countries |

Horror comedies never play international, it might be the biggest of all time already |
