Modest 20s opening like the Fall Guy and then it depends on the reviews, if it's bad that and Garfield coming out next week would get ugly for it. |

I thought The Strangers would be doa as well, but the horror subreddit seems pretty hyped for it. Apparently the original cut of the movie was 4 hours long, but they split it up and will release a trilogu over the course of the year instead? Kinda interesting, though I also kinda wish they did it like Fear Street and released a chapter every weekend just to see how the box office would go. |

Presales are trash but this is a family flick. Let us see how things go. I ultimately predicted 29m in monthly game. That would be good in comps to where it is now. Could go even lower. |

If If succeeds it will be a Shrek type run. Nothing big out of the gate. Garfield will be big though so would need to be exceptional. |

Yeah, obviously in an ideal world people would have enough money and time to see all the movies like we do. But if you're a family on a budget and Garfield + Inside Out are coming out within the next month ... well who is gonna be spending that money on something that the kids might not love? |

IF 35m Back to Black 4m The Strangers 9m (no idea about this one) I think IF will have a decent OW - neither breakout nor outright flop. |

First big family film in 11 weeks and only the 2nd one since Christmas nearly 5 months later. If will benefit from being something for families. A mid April launch would have been great for it too. |

Mediocre walkups today. I am thinking 1.5-1.75m preview range. Friday has big show count and hopefully walkups are way better. I am still sticking to high 20s for now. |

I'm not convinced If will do $20M+ yet. It should get there but can see a lot of people skip it who might catch it over the long weekend. Doesn't feel like a rush factor at all. And it's also the season of underperformances it seems! Overperformance at all will be from no family films and a Monday holiday in Canada. |
