Could a movie win this coming weekend with less than $1M??? Will numbers even be reported?

Since you can’t catch corona from electronic reports of numbers I’m guessing they will report it if there are any numbers to report.

So looks like at least 70-80% of theaters are closing Tuesday. Not sure any will be open Friday.

Onward and I still believe dropped less on Tuesday with the theater closings. I guess that reflects the areas of the country they are earning in in comparison to the major cities that shut theaters. So I guess Onward will be number 1, but weekly drops on Tuesday were all over 90%.

Movies down another 75% to 90% Wednesday. Onward first with just 61.5 thousand.

Disney is suspending global weekend box office reporting. Not good for data keeping.

Theater closures bring week-to-week drops to 94-99%.

Disappointing. I think it’s important to document this moment in history.

There's no data to keep. Plus smaller theaters that stay open won't want to declare it based on upcoming fines. We have so much online and other ways to see things it's not that crazy. Just like sports, people will go back to theaters. I'm interested to see what happens to the education system after this.

Not all countries close their movie theaters though. Objective reporting of data electronically is one thing that should not be affected during these harsh times.

Here in Oz most cinemas are open but with lowered capacity and specific rules governing screenings. That said new product simply isn’t there so BO will dry yo anyway.

The only new release this week is the well delayed The Current War lol. I guess it was worth a try.

Last week we had an Indian film at no.5 which is still impressive. Bloodshot at no.1 with a decent opening.

I think I know what I was doing one year ago today. Probably wondering when Avengers Endgame tickets were going on sale.
Can't believe that was almost a full year ago. Was that the last event movie?

$4,000 per drive-in location over 3-day is not bad, I guess.

‘The Wretched’ Reaches Rare Box Office Milestone Shared By ‘Black Panther’ And ‘Avatar’

Don't know how much of this is accurate or maybe it's because studios are not reporting numbers.

Hollywood is done until next year. Just put everything on streaming and call it a day. Nolan's movie looks an incomprehensible mess anyway.

As mentioned in the Universal Putting Films on VOD thread, real number one has been TROLLS WORLD TOUR all the time, which now sits at $2.65m

AMC released a statement stating they changed their mind and masks are now required. Lol so stupid the amount of bad press they could've avoided

AMC has been making some stupid announcements recently with this and Universal pictures feud. Either they have a PR manager who believes in excessive marketing as publicity or they seem to have lost it during lockdown
