Re: Thursday Previews: Original Movies Aren't Dead
Wow! Still don’t get why this movie is so Hot when so many other similar pictures have recently fallen on their faces, but its so good to have a breakout that I’m happy to be wrong. Maybe I’ll even go check it out on my off day next week.

Can’t wait to see it again, very happy! People act like the only movies people want to see are superhero movies and Disney and that’s crazy

Re: Thursday Previews: Original Movies Aren't Dead
This could've very easily been a 12m opening but pretty much everything went right. Great reviews, J. Lo Oscar buzz from Toronto festival, actually being a good movie, use of relevant musiciand in Lizzo and Cardi B, etc.
30m would be terrific.

It seems like a movie that would appeal to young adults of almost every stripe.

Any news on how the Downton Abbey previews went last night? I saw lots of near sold out auditoriums on Fandango.

Wait... is Bohemian Rhapsody really the highest grossing WW film that's not based on existing media, not animated, or not action oriented?

Just realized that it is Friday the 13th and there’s no horror movie opening. Inflated second Friday for It 2 incoming.

Re: Thursday Previews: Original Movies Aren't Dead
Deadline is reporting a 13.2m Friday for Hustlers. Woooo
So even with a harsh Sunday drop it should hit 30m.

Re: Thursday Previews: Original Movies Aren't Dead
Yep fantastic numbers for Hustlers, but there were plenty of signs there that it was going to breakout. Lol at those numbers for The Goldfinch. I mean who would have expected that it's entire opening weekend would be barely above Hustlers gross from previews? This movie could not have done any worse.

Re: Thursday Previews: Original Movies Aren't Dead
Yes expected but great for Hustlers. $100m should be in order.
Sad to see Goldfinch do so poorly. Looks like something I'd like despite the reviews. That said it probably would have been better and more successful as a Netflix miniseries.
