Ok for H&S. Definitely thought it would do more but I guess it could've been worse. Overseas should push it but not seeing a billion unless China is massive.
Mostly good drops all around. TS4 will hit 430m+, don't think many saw that when it opened.

Re: Fast & Furious Presents: Friday Numbers
So H&S would not even beat John Wick 3 in total despite a slightly higher opening?

Re: Fast & Furious Presents: Friday Numbers
If H&S has a $61m opening it'd need 2.8 multiplier to hit 170m. Not impossible but the franchise doesn't really do strong legs.

Re: Fast & Furious Presents: Friday Numbers
The Fate of the Furious had $10.4M previews on its way to a $45.7M opening day.
Hobbs and Shaw had $5.8M previews on its way to $23.7M. So it's slightly less frontloaded, with the spin off status being offset by the late summer release date. It's not going to have a leggy Mission Impossible type run, but $60M/$155M is achievable. Better than any of the other non-Disney "blockbusters" this year, though still not great. Fast 9 should have little trouble beating it.

Fate wasn’t received that well, I don’t think the next would have opened much higher than 75 either way

Re: Fast & Furious Presents: Friday Numbers
Not likely but small chance TLK misses BATB if it doesn't stabilize next weekend. Definitely could miss top 3 of the year behind Frozen, Avengers, and SW, etc..
Aladdin's 11th weekend in the top 10. If you take out movies that opened in late Nov/Dec (benefit from holiday multipliers), since 2000 only 3 films spent more time in the top 10 consecutively:
Black Panther and Zootopia at 13 weeks MBFGW at 18 weeks
