Well here we are at the week the world has been waiting for. Both new releases look appealing, but have drawbacks in not starring the more popular star in their field (sharks for aquatic terror and The Rock for former wrestlers turned action heroes). Will the box office blues continue on or will the people step up for the good-looking original movies everybody says they want so badly?


Crawl - $22M
Stuber - $12M


Hoping that each will do $10M more though! :D :D :D

Don't feel a breakout for Crawl. Feel like it'll do 10-12.

Stuber looks dreadful. Sad cause it'd be nice if Kumail could open a film but I see 9.

5 reviews in and all are positive for Crawl. Sure the reviews are quite forgiving but it seems they all agree that the movie delivers on its promise. Moviegoers who like a funny, trashy, ridiculous alligator attack movie should be satisfied.

Nice to see Crawl getting such positive reviews so far. I actually wonder if it will end up with better reviews than TLK. Now, that would be pretty crazy, but regardless I just don't see this breaking out. I'd be surprised if it opened much higher than $10-$11M and honestly if it went any lower that wouldn't surprise me either.

Stuber feels like a complete bomb though.
