Was thinking TS4 would open with less than 150m but fuck it.

Toy Story 4 - 177
Child's Play - 11
Anna - 3

I still doubt TS4 will translate those record presales in record OW. 140M.

Hoping for Anna to pull some good numbers, but that seems totally unlikely.

Post Re: June 21-23 predictions
There was no almost difference between the ads for Toy Story and Secret Life of Pets during the NBA finals. Our characters go somewhere unfamilar, with a western vibe, meet some kooky new characters and neither seems to have much of an overall story arc.

The reviews are great and Pixar brand loyalty is higher than ever, but the marketing for this movie has given us no reason to see it beyond the title. That has to count for something right?

Incredibles was a long awaited sequel that picked up right after the first movie's cliffhanger and had Jack-Jack, which is as great of a marketing tool as there is.

Once again, I very much hope I am eating crow on Friday afternoon. The box office needs a huge boost ($350M aint enough to save this June) and I would rather see another Pixar success than be right.

TS4 will make a lot. Don't have a prediction yet though. But Child's Play I'm thinking 11 Million and Anna 3-4.

I think it opens a decent bit under Incredibles 2, around 160m. Which is still amazing considering 3 only adjusts to 126m opening with a far higher 3-D share.

Toy Story 4 - 169
Child's Play - 12
Anna - 3

The BO wasteland will only help TS4 even more.

People in the pre-sale tracking thread on BOT have me second-guessing a breakout for TS4, but here's hoping they're wrong.

No. They are discounting ridiculous 200m prediction from Deadline. Deep Wang’s number for MTC is really promising and that is still putting us for 150m without taking into account that TS4 should be less PS heavy than Incredibles 2. Even review/reactions are way more glowing.

of course there are trolls around who would even predict TS4 to flop :-)

That $200M projection from Deadline always seemed like a bit of a stretch for TS4 IMO. Everything seems to still be pointing to it opening pretty comfortably over FD though, and that alone would make it a huge success.

I never bought $200m but $160m did seem conceivable.
