Solid. I think WoM should be decent so it should have an okay opening. This definitely should've done more than half of BatB numbers but with the backlash in the middle of its marketing I guess doing decent is fine.

Respectable number. Friday # will be more telling, I expect a bit of frontloading.

A $25m Friday is what I'd expect, maybe $80-85m over 4-days. Previews started at 6pm and Smith will absolutely contribute to some frontloading. I'd be surprised if the public reception varies significantly from the critical response.

If the film does actually deliver, geez did Disney boggle the one's potential big time

People clapped at my screening yesterday. It's an enjoyable movie, it'll have at least decent WoM.

$875K for Booksmart is double what I expected.

We’ll see but I’d be surprised if it does below 27m OD from this number. Beauty and Beast started at same time and had s 25.5% preview/OD ratio (which gives it a 27.5m OD). Pirates 5 ratio on the same time frame was 23.4% (which gives it a 30m OD).

This film skews more family than the other two imo and has less frontload demand. I honestly think it’s ratio should will be around 22% and has a chance at a 32m OD from this.

I've enjoyed seeing you back, Magnus.

That does seem pretty great for Aladdin. Maybe it will surprise somewhat after all, but I still can't help but think that Disney really botched the potential of the movie with the lackluster marketing. This film is solely being pushed by the brand name more than anything else at this point. I feel like the middling reviews are also hurting it quite a bit as well in terms of it appealing to everyone even if the WOM from general audiences ends up being good. A live action Aladdin movie shouldn't have had any problems doing $100M+ on the 3-day opening alone, but we will see where it goes over the weekend.

Not very surprising numbers for Brightburn or Booksmart though. At least it seems as if Booksmart is doing a bit better than expected, but I knew Brightburn wasn't going to do all that great considering the lack of buzz. It felt like the marketing for it really peaked after that first trailer.

DL says 28 to 30 OD for Aladdin. Could end up over 100M for the 4 day, and possibly top Solo. Probably will need 30M+ OD though.

So the plan to work hard for three months then coast for eternity didn't pay off? Well I am shocked.

31 million. Should do over 100 million 3 day now. Very nice surprise. People seem to like it overall.
