Won't time zones will help with off-setting the effect in non-US markets? I don't know about the distribution deals in any country, but I would imagine, for example, when it airs in the US that in China it's the morning, in the UK it's the middle of the night and no cinemas are open anyway. |

Welp. If nothing drops over 35% today I'd say that there wasn't any huge effect. We'll see tomorrow. |

Movies that had over 30% drops on Sunday were The Hustle, Intruder, Long Shot and Sun is Also a Star. So not a huge effect really. |

No effect then. If John Wick 3 didn't drop the most then it's kind of proof that GOT had no effect. |

Finale didn't hit 20. 19.3 total, 13 million live. You needed over 40 million for their to see any type of effect. So pretty much a non factor. |

Well it was probably illegally streamed by 20 million people too. Still, I think the overall poor reception to the final season dampened the hype around the finale, thus giving something new and shiny like John Wick 3 a chance to win the Battle of Priorities. |

The prominent DVR landscape really doesn't make this kind of thing an issue anymore. |
