Avengers Endgame (INTL)
The INTL threads have been getting rare so I just wanted to restart them. We all know its going to be BIG in OS markets but how much high do you think it can do?
For reference among all MCU movies the three Avengers movies are the highest grossing ones in OS markets
The Avengers - $895.5m Avengers: Age of Ultron - $946.4m (5% increase - mostly inflation I believe) Avengers: Infinity War - $1.369.5b (45% increase)
Other than these three movies there is just Iron Man 3 that did $800m+ OS.
How much will Endgame jump from IW?

Re: Avengers Endgame (INTL)
Not considering exchange rates because I'm too lazy too look them up, expecting a 12-13% bump to about $1.55b OS.
And based on average domestic/international ratios for these big Avengers films being roughly 33/66, that would put domestic at $750-$770m and global @ 2.3B

Re: Avengers Endgame (INTL)
Less than IW's real non-US gross (which is incorrectly listed in the OP as having grossed only $1.3m). The movie is too long, and these movies are all about upfront buzz and multiple viewings.

Jack Sparrow wrote: Avengers: Age of Ultron - $946.4m (5% increase - mostly inflation I believe) Exchange rates fell considerably from 2012 to 2015. Ultron was able to offset that thanks to a much bigger result in China and to the many jumps in other Asian markets and LA compensating the weakened ERs. MadGez wrote: Not considering exchange rates because I'm too lazy too look them up, expecting a 12-13% bump to about $1.55b OS. Overall, exchange rates are about 5% worse now than when IW opened, so a 12/13% jump in local currencies would translate into an actual 7% jump in US dollars.

Re: Avengers Endgame (INTL)
Trailers have less action than IW. I wouldn't be shocked by no jump at all. But probably $1.4 bil international. With $650 mil domestic.

Re: Avengers Endgame (INTL)
With this confirmed to open on the 24th in China I'm pretty sure Infinity War's WW OW record is gong to be obliterated. I'm thinking $1.4-$.1.5B OS, $650-$700M domestic and $2.1-$2.2B WW. Chinese Poster - https://wx2.sinaimg.cn/mw690/9b0571ebly ... 18eqv9.jpg

True...but considering the low key trailers I guess, this seems surprising...

Re: Avengers Endgame (INTL)
^ I believe it's possible. With China release Fate's OS record will be gone as well. I think $500m+ OS weekend and $250m+ domestic OW so another $250mish might be possible in 2 days given that one of those days will be Tuesday.

Re: Avengers Endgame (INTL)
The marketing for these films is so restricted now because they are constantly pressured into putting every damn person on the poster and in the trailers. DAMN THEM IF THEY FORGET A BLACK CHARACTER THAT NOBODY CARES ABOUT! They can't do anything with posters besides lining them all up. It's lame, and that Chinese poster is proof of it.

Let's not forget that May 1st is a national holiday all over the world (except the U.S.) so Tuesday and Wednesday Numbers will be very, strong too...

Re: Avengers Endgame (INTL)
Over Titanic WW shouldn't be hard for this IMO. Not saying its a lock or anything, but it's going to finish somewhere in the all-time top 5 WW.

Re: Avengers Endgame (INTL)
This is breaking pre-sales records left and right OS. In a lot of places it has already topped what IW sold in its entire run in just a couple of days. Unless the legs are horrible I don't see how this doesn't at least cross $2B again at the worst. The domestic and OS openings are going to be fucking monstrous.

Re: Avengers Endgame (INTL)
Yeah I definitely think this going to cross the $1B mark WW by the time the weekend is over. The hype is just too huge right now, and it's breaking pre-sales records everywhere.

Re: Avengers Endgame (INTL)
$107m OD in China https://deadline.com/2019/04/avengers-e ... 202600409/Disney/Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame has a stranglehold on China as it continues to surge in early rollout there. After heating up a new midnight milestone worth RMB 189M ($28.1M) on Tuesday, today’s tallies just keep climbing. As of this evening locally, early estimates were coming in at RMB 719M ($107M), including midnights, for the first day. The opening on the Anthony Russo- and Joe Russo-helmed Endgame sets a new all-time record in the market, eclipsing previous champ Monster Hunt 2, which bowed during Chinese New Year 2018
