I think this will do 50m OW, 130m total. A lower tier superhero flick, but not a bomb.

That teaser wasn't shit. I need to see way more before I can get a good read on this movie, but so far I don't see how its going to appeal to anyone outside the comic book nerds if this is going to be their marketing campaign.

It's my understanding they don't have many of the visual effects ready yet. I won't be making a prediction until I see something more polished.

I understand that, but the worse thing about that trailer is that it doesn't tell you anything about the movie either. I mean why would general audiences care for some generic looking action/thriller starring Tom Hardy? They also have that awful logo at the end like its suppose to be obvious, and don't even show the full title of the movie lol.

Yeah still too early to tell but it should manage to be a sizeable hit for Sony, especially with the October release. $150m is a good bet.

There will be more trailers. lol

And it's just a fucking teaser! Teasers are generally for people that know what the subject matter is anyway, and don't need convincing. There will be countless "full trailers" for people like you that don't know what Venom is. ;)

I was thinking it would barely do $100m total at one stage - but with the teaser and the good release date + the Marvel fanbase (regardless if it is Sony or MCU) - it should make more than this by default.

75-80 domestic seems spot on. Not an embarrassment but a non-starter in terms of being a franchise.

Hopefully that final shot is unfinished VFX. Looks kind of like a 90s low budget superhero film like Spawn or Power Rangers. Perhaps intentially comedic.

Yeah... usually KJ folks are spot on... but people are LOWERING their predictions after the trailer? The hell?

This will do well. Could touch $200 mil total. Probably leaning $175 mil for now.
