Now that is a multiple demographic crossover hit right there. Legs will probably be bad, but a mammoth Mother’s Day opening weekend should be enough to push this over the mark. |

I'm thinking 70+. I want to take my mom for Mother's Day. Definitely think it will break out but I'm not sure if it can do 100 million. I think that's pretty unlikely. |

I think $60-$70m at best and that would be great. Good counter-programming for the month though. |

Snatched managed to do $45m so I think with the black crowd support this can do much more than that if it gets good reviews which I think it's likely. |

I don't know about $100M, but $50M should happen. That trailer is effective and it seems like solid counter programming for not only black audiences, but older women aswell. |

Just watched the trailer. Movies like this come out all the time. I think it can do well, but not $100m well. Anyway, it seems like the type of film that I will watch and enjoy, like I do every time a home invasion film comes out (Trespass, A Stranger Calls and before you see it, even Better Watch Out). I pretty much watch them all. I'll go $60m. |

I think this would have had a shot if they got a real star to play the lead invader instead of the psycho dad from season 2 of 24. As is though, it can probably be one of the bigger "urban" hits in recent memory. Happy for Gabrielle Union (who apparently produced as well!). |

They totally count towards that type of movie, for me. And yes, I saw the first. Didn't get around to the second yet. Not sure that I really liked the first too much, but I was a lot younger then. |

It's releasing against another female-oriented film, Melissa McCarthy's Life of the Party. Unless this gets Girls Trip-type reviews, I'm thinking it will be lucky to open better than When the Bough Breaks. |

The competition around it increased so much since this club was made but I feel it will still do well and sneak past $100m if the reviews are good |

May is way overloaded with female skewing films - I really don't understand why they could not have spread them out a little: Overboard Tully Breaking In Life of the Party Book Club On Chesil Beach But Mother's Day will certainly help it and it does look appealing to both sexes. So $60-$80m would be a nice haul for it. |

Out Gabrielle Union has never been a BIG draw; even in the urban community. It might connect with Mothers but most I can see for it is $18-$20 OW with at most 60m total with excellent reviews. Decent reviews will most likely put it at around a $12m OW and a $25m finish. I hope it is not as dumb as "Traffik" was. |

Well unless this turns into The Greatest Showman, it will be one of my bigger misses. Life of the PartY moving really hurt, but I still don’t understand why they didn’t try to market beyond black women. Could have played it as an action movie, a social justice movie, a strong black woman overcoming white male obstacles. Instead, they play it as niche amd can’t even match the likes of No Good Deed amd The Perfect Guy. |

After the initial marketing it just died and I don't know why. It has good cross over appeal but they never seemed to be interested in marketing this other than for black woman. |
