So as expected not a big increase for TLJ and Jumanji actually decreased. Do note that TLJ is coming down from estimates almost everyday as of now

TLJ increases from Monday but Jumanji decreases. That's weird.

At my theater, Star Wars was big today, Pitch Perfect was an easy second, and Jumanji and Ferdinand did about half of Pitch Perfect. Weird. Yesterday Jumanji was the easy 2nd place film.

It is indeed weird if Jumanji decrease and TLJ saw an increase

Not that weird IMHO. Jumanji increased by a huge amount Monday. Last Jedi failed to do that, so it was in a better spot to jump on Tuesday.

The combined Christmas Day/Boxing Day gross for Last Jedi is about $55.7 million. That’s about $20m lower than expected after opening weekend.

While that's true the rest of the movies with big Monday increase saw an increase on Tuesday and please don't tell me it's because of the bigger numbers because that hasn't been the case before.

I thought that AtMitW would do better but its run so far has been poor and I don't see it getting past $30m now

Yes the holidays weren't kind to Coco maybe the added competition of SW, Jumanji 2 and Ferdinand didn't help it. But with that A+ Cinemascore I never thought it got those mind-blowing holds from start

So I've updated the BoM numbers and consolidated the BO numbers from mark

BoM chart here: http://www.boxofficemojo.com/daily/chart/

TLJ came in below estimates to $27.7m and pretty much flat from Monday.

Coco deserves so much more. So sad to see it not flourish with the holidays.

It was 9m behind Moana after its third weekend, which was almost identical to Moana. Now, it’s 23m behind it with the gap set to just get bigger and bigger. It should still top 200m and that’s a good overall total for it...but it was heading for so much more it seemed.

Yeah, I'm sad it hasn't been able to match Moana, and is even losing to Tangled right now (though it will probably still beat Tangled out in the end).

Could there be a portion of the white demographic that refused to see it? Seems like it to me given the atmosphere in Trump's America.

Well as a White republican, I can tell you the subject matter did not interest me. I saw it because I love Pixar and it had good reviews. I would guess non film fan white republicans would not be interested.

Yeah I don't think politics comes into the decision not to see an animated movie. Just personal preference for the culture and style.
