Looks like SW8 did $99m in four days...

Another drop from estimate for TLJ is in order

TFA and Rogue One both had among the weakest Xmas Day increases and then the best Boxing Day holds, although yeah a sub-60% increase from Xmas Eve is pretty mediocre.

I do wonder what Discount Tuesday will mean for Star Wars and Jumanji though - their demand is already so high that the ticket price drop might actually stunt them a bit?

Yep RO dropped 24% on Tuesday granted it was after Boxing day but it could have seen like a smaller drop because of discount Tuesday.

So 27.5M is the official estimate for TLJ. Looks like Rth was spot on once again, but his late night updates usually are. Going to be very interesting to see how it does today, but a slight drop wouldn't surprise me neither would a slight increase.

$99m would be good in this case because Rth kinda indicated $27m Monday for it

How did it make up for the $4m if that $99m is true?

Sunday was way underestimated, at around $17.7 million - BOM just didn't update their Sunday estimates for whatever reason.

I didn't even realize that BOM's number was so less. Pathetic, specially for such a big movie.

TLJ got an extra day & it can’t top 100m. Sad! Disappointing!

Also TLJ's first Monday was lower than RO and yes the later was boosted by Boxing day but the difference was a good $5m. I'm assuming a very slight increase tomorrow for TLJ to get $29m which means it's not going to leap frog past RO add many were expecting. TLJ's second Wednesday will surely see a bigger drop than RO's 20%.

700m goal takes a big hit with that number. Even if it does 30m today (9% increase), that puts it at 425m. That’s 25% ahead of RO after 12 days. If it kept that same pace for rest of run, it ends with 665m. It needs to do 44% better to get over 700m. Doesn’t seem reasonable to think that the film is gonna suddenly start to do that.

$700m was dead after first week total being less than $300m after $220m.

Jumanji is gonna become Sony's first non-Spider-Man/non-Bond $200+ million grosser since Hancock nine years ago, and it now has a very solid chance at becoming their biggest non-Spider-Man/non-Bond movie period, if it can pass Men in Black ($250.7 million). This is an insane win for them.

JUMANJI CINEMATIC UNIVERSE INCOMING.

Jumanji though....duplicating Sing success I didn’t see coming, though TLJ (and all other movies) being weaker certainly
Hells. It’s become the #1 option for those who wanna see a movie but don’t wanna see TLJ, which is a sizable amount. It has come at the expense of other films as basically no other movies are making money outside the top 2, so the overall
Holiday business is not stronger than expected. Just distributed mostly at the top.

700 is dead. Needs to outgross Rogue One by 20% the rest of the way to reach Jurassic World’s 652 total. This will be very difficult since it was only 7% ahead of Rogue One from Monday to Monday. Could be a tough battle with Avengers for #5 domestic spot.

Post subject:  Re: Weekend Actuals

Unless it start to do worser, TLJ should get past $630m mark and be #5 ahead of avengers

BOM has not updated since Monday morning. That is Disney’s projection before it earned a dime yesterday.

Poor excuse considering huge jumps by other films yesterday. I think a better excuse would be Jumanji has strong WOM and is stealing family audience from Last Jedi.
