Okay after its boom of a first day, there is a lot of goodwill DCU needs to make up after BvS and Suicide Squad. I think this will help mend some of that ill will

That is really pathetic opening for Justice League.

I think the number to watch is $70m - that's how much lower JL opened compared to BvS...

WB predicts 26.9% drop on Sunday? Good luck with that :funny:

Mark66 - it opened $70M less in both US and International. Overall it's $140M lower WW opening than BvS.

$96m is higher than I expected after that Saturday number. I thought it might have got just $90m. I hope it goes down with estimates, but it is more likely for it to increase. #fudge

It will need some miracle to increase in actuals. Average drop for big movies for this time is -31%. Their 26.7% drop is a joke.

I'm glad Warner did not attempt a blatant fudge job so they could have the $100m headlines today.

I think WB needs their next three projects (Aquaman, SHAZAM!, and WW2) to all connect with audiences. It needs consistency to establish good faith. Even one bad project can fuck it up.

Frankly as much as I want to blame Snyder, David Ayers fuck up of Suicide Squad was just as bad for DCU. If SS was actually a good movie and then we had WW, I legit think everyone's opinion of DCU would be different.

People were clearly willingly to give DCU one more chance with SS. The film fucked up and the DCU lost a lot of folks who didn't even show up to WW initially until the WOM carried it (let's not forget: as successful as WW was, it still opened considerably lower than SS. The film probably has an even better performance if SS wasn't a shit film).

I think most people, the general audience, saw the different DCU films so far as quite separate entities, and even then if SS had a negative effect, WW negated that again. It's BvS, with it's poor multiplier that already set people of it's direct sequel Justice League, news of it's problematic production and then bad reviews only shot down it's chances even more.

And I'm on of the few with this opinion, but despite it's good reviews and incredible box office haul, I think a lot of the audience didn't like the film that much actually, and went to see it more to make a point than they actually loved it. Those people not coming out for JL with a WW at the forefront say as much too I think.

The IMs are all healthy, totals just terrible.

HOW did this cost $300m?

Side note but Thors drop this week pretty much means it's got no shot at 325m. Probably will end up with around 310m if it follows Doctor Stranges legs from here on out.

Marvel has no issues with this performance but if this probably does better if it was in Guardians or SM slot as it would have been far leggier.

Considering how Marvel has shown no qualms with opening on odd release dates, they should have just opened Thor in the middle of October - that would have given October an overall boost, Marvel an easy OW record, and the movie far better legs.

They should scrap Shazam, no one cares about it. Move up Green Lantern Corps, he should have been in Justice League film.

Why is Murder on the Orient Express estimated for a 1% drop today? That doesn't make much sense.

BOM messed up the dailies. According to The Numbers they are:

Friday - $4,075,000 +128%
Saturday - $5,885,000 +44%
Sunday - $3,840,000 -35%

To have a film like Justice League open to 14% more tickets than B&R is unacceptable. Its not just 200-300m underachievement for this film. Its a collective $1b+ of revenue forfeited over a bunch of DCU movies.

Head really should roll. Outside of Aquaman and WW2, they really should hold off on the rest and reconsider the DCU approach going forward.

Great weekend for Wonder! Looking like Julia Robert's first $100m film (as star) since Erin Brockovich.

The Star should be good for at least $50-60m from here thanks to Christmas.

Orient and DH2 will probably end up below $90m which is a shame but still solid.

There is just no way spinning around it. The solo Batman movies have been record breakers, even Supes and WW opened bigger alone so this is pathetic but much deserved for JL and WB. It will be interesting what WB does from here on for this universe, it is clearly in trouble and needs different handling.

As for the estimate I don't think $96m will hold that Sunday drop won't be achieved with this WoM.

Great for Wonder, it should hold really well going forward.

Just curious. What are we basing the WOM off of? It's IM is okay far from bad.
