September 6, 2019. Not sure there's room for much growth. I can see an opening bigger than the first but less than the first's total. Keen to see who they cast for the adults. |

Over $140m OW. The first part is becoming geniunely beloved and will produce a lot of goodwill. And the kids are still going to be part of it via flashbacks and I'm sure that will feature prominently in the marketing. It will be one of the most hyped films of 2019. |

I find it interesting that some actually think it can increase off of Chapter 1. I just don't see it getting that level of hype again, but if they can come up with another killer marketing campaign than I guess it can happen. I could see a scenario where it's like The Hangover franchise and the sequel opens bigger, but legs are much weaker. I think Deadpool 2 will be the perfect barometer for this, but I'm almost certain that will decrease from the first movie. |

Chapter One carried nostalgia which won't be replicated by this one even if the WoM is great this time. Chapter Two will do great numbers just not as big as the original. |

Well, goodwill can replace nostalgia, and I don't think nostalgia was the only attraction with It. Clowns are scary no matter what, and the marketing campaign was great. And the sequel can also carry nostalgia + goodwill, so it's a combo. That being said, I do not think the premise is as enticing, and people that remember the mini series remember it primarily because of the kids versus Pennywise, not the adults, and now that that section was done with the first film, I just don't see everyone getting pumped up for the adult part, though of course there will still be interest. I see it like The Force Awakens (It) and then Rogue One (It 2). |

Let's not forgot IT opened when the box office was in an awful state. That certainly helped. I'm doubting the sequel will be so lucky as to open in a box office wasteland. You never know though. Many might want to steer clear of the sequel. But yeah, the movie is huge and the sequel will do fantastic. I don't think it will do as much as the first part though. |

I can't remember the last time where I felt like the casting was going to be so crucial. That said I believe that chapter 2 will open higher because of the fantastic word-of-mouth and because I think Warner Bros. knows that it is worth the money to bring on some exciting names. That's honestly where I'm curious to hear people's predictions. Jessica Chastain seems like a near lock. |

I hope they don't bring in some comedy actors that want to be taken seriously as real actors. I can just see then bringing in Jason Sudeikis or Danny McBride. |

I don't think it will open higher than Chapter One. This wasn't a regular thing. What was the last horror movie to do $100m OW? I don't think Chapter Two is guaranteed to bring in all the casual audience again though I see it getting past $100m again and become the only horror franchise to do so (adjusted). |

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if it increased from the first either. The hype for this should be huge come September, although I don't know if it will happen considering so much went right for that first movie. |

145 315 700 I think it will open higher due to more hype. Make less domestic just because but make as much overall again due to hype. That first teaser has me ready to be covering my eyes again. I'm going to look forward to the audience reactions with this film. |
