Early numbers suggest a $47m Friday! ![]() http://deadline.com/2017/09/stephen-kin ... 202163667/ THR edited their article to suggest "$40m or more". http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-v ... ht-1036714 |

Lord have mercy at that number for It. ![]() ![]() Outgrossing the OW of both Conjuring movies on OD is just fucking ridiculous no matter how you look at it. If that number sticks it should go well over $100M. Hell even if it goes down to $40M it might still get there. |

Even if estimates fluctuate a 230m+ total seems likely. Wow. |

Wow. Luckily it seems like it's a good movie so I hope it has good legs. At least they didn't fuck up another King adaptation so soon. |

SHOOK $100m+ OW is a real possibility. Disney must be fuming. |

The September OW record is going to get obliterated!! That certainly makes up for the blah August BO. |

September is the only month that has never seen a 50 m opening weekend and now its seeing a 50 m opening day potentially. ![]() Just shows you how great product can open massive anytime of the year. It's the weekend after Labour Day. What AS did in January, DP/POTC February, HG March, Furious April, HP November, and SW in December was gamechange the level of OW's in those months. I expect IT will have a similar impact in September. Funny that Mar/Apr/Sep will have MORE 85 m + openers than May/Jun/Jul/Aug. ![]() |

Rth is now saying 48-49 for It which I can totally see. My 6:00 showing wasn't very crowded, but the theatre was packed as shit when I came out. Late night shows could push it to $50M IMO. |

The more the merrier. LOVED the film. Now can studios stop thinking people won't see a quality product any time of year? |

It received a B+ CinemaScore. Which, among horror films thought of as crowd-pleasing, is lower than the A- scores received by both Conjuring films, but on par with What Lies Beneath and higher than Insidious and The Others, which both received a B. |

God, if this can break the September OW record off of Thursday/Friday alone (which would also give it the biggest opening day for an R-rated movie ever)..... ![]() |

In modern times there has been a consistent amount of rumors saying Disney has become quite heavy-handed. Market monopolies/one studio domination are never a good thing. It's great that WB is bringing back that strong competition, after a bit of a lull for them in the marketplace. I really hope Blade Runner 2049 breaks out, as again that will bring more competition to the market, which is a good thing. |

Market monopolies/one studio domination are never a good thing. I don't think it's rumors. They already announced their streaming platform which will have their content exclusively. It's complete profit maximization for them. Though part of why some streaming services are popular right now is that they have lots of option. If everybody starts their own platform people won't be willing to pay $10 a month for each and every platform. So subscription prices will have to go down. I feel like they are doing stuff that could end up harming them down the road. It would be better if they partnered up with an existing platform I think. |
