If it cracks 100 Million it will be lucky. I think it could possibly miss that. Grosses will come back down to earth for this one after the last was inflated due to being Walker's last. |

Because it went up to $147m, that's why. Do you think all of that extra attendance will not be interested just because Paul Walker didn't die last year? You think there will be 0% retention from new viewers gained by Furious 7? |

I definitely think Paul Walker was a factor, but the franchise also grew with each installment. Furious 7 also had natural growth. It was boosted by Walker's death, sure, and some of those that attended were probably not interested in this franchise at all, but I don't believe all hated it. Some must have liked it, and therefore some will show up again for the eighth film. I guess we'll see soon enough. |

Yeah I don't see why this will decrease drastically over the OW from the last. The last one had the added advantage of Walker's death but it was also liked/loved by the audience who saw it. Fate - $135m |

Obviously audiences dug Furious 7 but I just feel Fate will take a tumble. It will still do great though. |

It is the only direct comparison though, unless you wanna count The Crow: City of Angels.  Six rose about 11.5% from Five on opening weekend. Giving that same increase to 7 would have put it at around $108.5m opening weeknd, though I think the addition of Statham would have got it a little bit higher. The same increase puts F8 at about $120m, so I'd be disappointed by anything less than that. I'd say Walker's death, and the final tearjerking scene of Furious 7 helped the legs more than anyhing. |

On a regular weekend I think I'd still stick with it not making over 100 Million. But Friday will be a big movie-going day with many off work and school. |
