Both movies seemed to present a mystery and are opening very close to each other. Which of these two movies will do more? |

I think the comparisons to Gone Girl won't be in favor of The Girl on the Train which could lead to poor legs. The Accountant has a bigger star power and the trailer good and its something that should bring in good adult audience resulting in good legs. My pick is The Accountant. |

Girl on the Train (the book) is a huge seller I believe. I see that translating to over $100m at the BO. The Accountant should have moved further away. I suspect it will do sub $75m. The studios have a knack for overloading Sep/Oct with a ton of adult appealing films resulting in mediocre grosses for almost all of them. Never changes. |

Look what's coming back! Ben Affleck, Jon Bernthal, J.K. Simmons & Cynthia Addai-Robinson all returning For 'The Accountant 2. It made $155M worldwide ($24.7/$86.3 domestic) in 2016 however, it was the most rented digital film of 2017!
