Can Dory pass $500m? It is only $1.65m off The Dark Knight's 2nd Sunday and dropped 36.5% compared to TDK's 45.7%. TDK made $219.5m more with fewer summer weekdays. What am I missing? |

If it continues to follow TS3's trajectory (Dory had a near-identical 2nd week drop) from here on out it gets to $518m. |

And worst case scenario it follows Monsters University from here (which dropped hard against Despicable Me 2 in its third weekend, this has Pets in its 4th), it'll still finish with $443m. |

Considering Ghostbusters and Ice Age as well, it could hold worse than MU in its 5th and 6th weeks. |

zwackerm is the only one that believes Ghostbusters will affect Dory. I think Dory is headed for $475m+, the family competition is big in the coming weeks. MBY really didn't hold well over weekends or weekdays to be considered for a sequel. |

Isn't the original Ghostbusters a rated PG family film? |

It is but the target audience for this one isn't families. The movie can be called a teenage fun but definitely not something you will see with your families in theaters, surely no rush on OW. |
