Is that really Kate Hudson? She looks like a completely different person.

Mother's Day: What in the god damn Fuck???? Never heard of it before, and just looking at that poster, all I can say is........... what in the goddamn Fuck???

actually that could more or less be my response to all the releases next weekend. It's like I blinked and three of the most inexplicable movies ever released are released on the same weekend.

they'll all gross the exact same amount

It's such a forgettable lineup, and for a weekend that normally produces huge tentpoles (Ultron last year, TASM2 in 2014, Iron Man 3 in 2013), it is quite surprising.

Keanu looks really funny and reviews are strong. I hope it does well.

Keanu will likely be the strongest of the lot, but opening it next weekend seems foolish when it will get crushed by Captain America in week 2. It should have remained in its original release date (this weekend).

Keanu - 16
Mother's Day - 13
Ratchet & Clank - 6

Keanu is being pushed heavily and Key and Peele are relatively well known. I think It should at least do 10 million, but I could see it do 20 million.

I have barely seen any marketing for it though and I watch alot of the same channels where it would be popular with my demographic. I'm sure they have a fanbase, but is that same fanbase willing to shell out $10-$12 bucks on something that honestly looks like more of a rental, especially with Civil War coming out a week later ?

Keanu is probably good for $10m, but not much more. I'm stoked for it though.

Ratchet will go under $5m and be on the playstation network by June. The game based on the movie based on the game is getting pretty good reviews though.

Mother's Day seems a victim of poor advertising. The title + the inoffensive vibe + Aniston/Roberts, and it is landing in theatres to a muted chorus of crickets.

I'm mostly distracted by how awful Julia's wig is in it.

The last time the last weekend in April produced a huge film was in 2011.

That explains a lot about how you understand box office.

Seems like there's been a lot of weekends in the last year with no legit releases on it.

Wow! even Mother's Day has showed up on MT before Keanu. There is no way it's hitting teens now and even low double digits might be too much. Civil War most likely has something to do with it, but there is definitely enough room for a comedy breakout right now, especially since Barbershop didn't do amazing numbers either.
