Tremendous.

Nice. It stayed above $15m. Very good hold indeed. It has a small chance at $70m second weekend.

Isn't Easter Monday a holiday for some State employees and schools?

Sure? Maybe?

I hope you do realize that BvS was ahead of F&F7 by 13 % over the weekend and just 7 % on Monday?

You have to compare sunday/sunday and monday/monday, bro.

Literally everyone in the history of box office tracking.

Says Magnus, can't you fucking read! I don't think that's even on the optimistic side. Pretty standard

The obvious goal is to match/beat Furious 7 from here on out, as that would lock up $370 mil.

Agree with Chip here. Even though BvS was bigger overall from F7 its Sunday was slightly above it. Definitely a good Monday hold in comparison. Also it does tell that the movie will not free fall from the presumably mixed WoM.

I think the likely outcome is a 60m weekend (64% drop). This would lead to about s 365m finish. If it manages to break 65m this weekend, it'll break 380m

I am thinking somewhere in middle about 62% drop for $63m weekend. I don't see Friday less than $17m.

Despite my serious issues with the film, if it's over 275 after weekend 2, 400 is looking still good. It's still a novelty film

With F7's multiplier it will reach $370m and I think that is a good target for it now. F7 dropped close to 60% in its second weekend and BvS will surely fall harder than that.

I'm quite the b.o. historian myself and believe me, there are hundreds of different ways to look at b.o.

Deadline has also reported a strong Monday (I know it's spring break but it held well yesterday after already holding well Sunday) of $4.77M for Zootopia.

There are other factors that can influence Monday drops (more families than Furious 7). You have to wait a few days to get a clear picture. The drop wasn't clearly good or bad, but the Friday to Monday drop is more telling.

I'm curious to see its weekend IM. IM3/AOU got 3.6+ weekend IMs. That seems way too optimistic but a 3.4-3.45 IM at this moment seems plausible, though 3.3-3.5 seems more likely.

I'd be surprised though if the Friday increase is above 120%. I could see it as low as 95%.

This weekend doesn't have such great IMs. Alot of kids are out for spring break. Last year Home was the best with a bit over 3.3. This year might be worse because its a week earlier.

Decent #, didn't know film held well on Easter Monday though.

45% of schools are out this week. I'm guessing that's probably even higher for Monday.

That article is filled with all sorts of nonsense though.

However, it is really getting repeat business.

I'm guessing 110% Friday and a 3.25 IM. The question is whether it crumbles by Thursday.

LOL @ WB:
Quote:
What you may not know is this: Even the studio was shocked by its success.

...

“That’s about $100 million more than we thought we’d ever get,” admitted Jeff Goldstein, executive vice president of theatrical distribution for the movie’s distributor Warner Bros. “I can’t believe we hit a number that large.”

Seriously, they already started to spin the stories? That's how disappointing this opening is to them?

EDIT:

It's getting even funnier later on:

Quote:
Here we are launching this movie and it’s the start of a whole story arc for a bunch of movies. And you go, ‘Wow, that’s a pretty bold move to do that.’”

Are they high? Like Marvel did it before them.

Marvel kinda stumbled into their world, almost by accident.
