Avatar 2 will certainly drop stateside. Most likely under 500m. Though international is a different story. China will make up for most of the drop offs in other territories. |

I think a sense of new technology and "we've never seen this before" contributed to Avatar's success. There's no way he can concoct the same feeling for its sequel. And as we've seen with films that do mother-of-God well, their sequels often make less (TDKR, AOTC, ESB, JP2 etc.). So, while "never underestimate Cameron" is definitely in play, so are lots of other factors. It will most likely drop. Like 95% likely. |

What will annoy me are the droves of people who will piss on the movie before seeing it or refuse to enjoy the film.
