Fantastic for Revenant. Guess screeners don't have as much a effect as everyone thought last week.

It's amazing that a film from Innaritu may triple the gross of a film from Tarantino, LOL.

This means The Revenant will be #1, no? I can't imagine it will be that front loaded.

A lot of nasty drops for the holdovers. Great expansion for The Revenant.

Looks like The Revenant is definitely hurting SW this weekend, but $40M+ is still pretty great for a film in it's fourth week of release and it has already claimed the top domestic crown, so everything from here on out is just gravy. The Hateful Eight on the other hand got completely stomped though. It will either crawl or barely make it past $50M which shows that not only did it appeal exclusively to Tarintino's fans, but also WOM must not be that great.

Didn't expect that. It looked really unappealing and The Boy comes out in just two weeks.

The Woman in Black sequel also opened to these numbers and that looked even worse. I am not surprised with The Forest breakout. TF will crash and burn from here on and might not reach $25m total because of The Boy releasing so soon after.

I believe the frontloading for SW7 was extended to 3 weeks and it will start showing soon. While the gross is great I just can't see how a film like TR should affect highest grossing movie of all time. SW7 SHOULD get to #1 this weekend otherwise it won't even get 4 weekends at #1 which for a $250m opener is not that great.
