Doesn't look at all like a $100m movie.
I think it looks like the kind of movie that comfortably ends up making between $30-50m.
No idea who thought the budget was worth giving?

I agree the cost is high. But the movie looks good, and if it lives up to that, then it could play well up til Furious 7 in April. After Earth opened to 27.5M despite being ravaged by critics. Will Smith still has drawing power. It's success will depend on how well the movie is marketed and how good it actually is. I see it opening anywhere from 15-30M, with a good multiplier. 50-105M final domestic gross is my prediction. I hope it does better though. |

Smith probably got $15m to do it. Robbie, $2m. Then there's the on-location shooting in Argentina, New Orleans and New York City, which is always more expensive than studio shoots. I don't think that budget has been confirmed, though. It may just be a $60m production, in which nobody would bat an eyelid. |

Yeah, a $100m is a lot of money for a movie that, like I said, looks like one of those $30-50m movies which are produced for $30-45m. This looks like Flight, but without the airplanes and all, and that cost like $60m? Less? |

Or like in the vein of American Hustle ($40m), the Counselor ($25m), Prisoners ($46m) I mean, it looks like a movie that would be distributed by Focus Features and make $18m after going wide and will be considered a great total. $100M budget is insane batshit crazy. |

I agree that $100m will be really bad for this movie but I still don't think this will bomb badly. I mean I can see it doing $60m-$70m (maybe a little higher if its really good) which is good for these kind of movies. BTW where did you find out that this is $100m budgeted? |
