Re: Weekend Actuals 24/14
from BOM: http://www.boxofficemojo.com/weekend/ch ... =24&p=.htmThat's one gigantic overestimation for 22JS.

Re: Weekend Actuals 24/14
Pretty terrible for Fault in Our Stars, not that it really matters since its all profit from now to the studio. I think this just means Green's other adaptations won't be huge as Fault is his biggest book.
22 Jump Street did 8 million more than Neighbors. I'm still baffled by Neighbor's opening.

Re: Weekend Actuals 24/14
Really? The 3D percentage is almost certainly lower. Does the increase in 2D prices since 2010 offset the decrease in 3D ticket sales?
Also, has there ever been a time in BO history when two films were locked in a neck-in-neck race (i.e., one film passing the other, then the other film squeaking BACK to #1, with both films only a few THOUSAND dollars apart) for top film of the year-to-date, in the way that Lego and CA2 have been for the past couple weeks?

Re: Weekend Actuals 24/14
That's a significant audience overlap between 22JS and HTTYD2. Maybe both movies can hold better in the coming weekends ?

Re: Weekend Actuals 24/14
Captain America vs The Lego Movie is becoming pretty entertaining. They've changed positions as the #1 film of the year 3 times now. Disney/Warner Bros. will probably keep them in release for quite awhile, especially if Transformers 4 pulls a Shrek 4/Pirates 4 and it becomes clear it can't beat them.
Although, Lego is being released on DVD tomorrow.

Re: Weekend Actuals 24/14
An X-Men film dropping a mere 35% this early into its run without holiday support is the most shocking thing in the history of all box office ever.
