It might happen. It probably will happen. Let's say it will happen. How would it perform? I mean WoM is through the roof and in partcular overseas animated films ALWAYS tend to increase over their predecessors. It probably wouldn't hit theatres before 2016/2017. I guess Christmas 2017 would be a good time. I think it would be the film to finally top Shrek 2 domestically. I see $450-470 million. It would also hit $750+ million overseas. |

Could see it getting to $1 billion just from overseas tally. Domestically, will do $450 m or more. I think Shrek 2 will be topped before 2017 though. Inflation is getting pretty crazy and still see Finding Nemo 2 with an outside chance. It reached #8 of all time when it was released and has dated quite well. |

I don't see Nemo making much more than Toy Story 3 even with inflation. Maybe $425-430 million. |

Random trivia, in just a little over 4 years time, Shrek 2 has dropped from #4 to #8 on the all time list. Only 6 animated movies have ever done $325 m +, of which 3 have come out in the last 3.5 years (2 in the last 9 months). So the pace of big $400 m + movies becoming a regular thing I would be shocked to see Shrek 2 still hold the animated record for 3 years. |

As much as a sequel would maybe be a bad idea, I would be over-the-moon excited for one if the voice cast returned. Would be huge. Maybe 450 Million. |

I agree with Magnus on this one. The WOM is already VERY good and it is bringing a lot more casual fans this time. If it is indeed as good as this one then I guess it will stay even or increase a little like THG. The range I guess is $380m-$420m |

If Disney does decide to make a sequel (Andrew Lee has said "no plans at this point") I would only be on board if they have another great story to tell. The last thing Disney needs is anything that remotely calls to mind the direct-to-video garbage that absolutely poisoned the brand in the pre-Lasseter years. I sincerely believe that we don't need a Frozen sequel, we need more original films that are as good as Frozen. |

Unfortunately, most animated films still do not attract the widespread audiences that are afforded to other live action movies. As Dr. Lecter pointed out, $593m without 3D. That's untouchable. The unadjusted mark will be defeated by inflation and 3D but by that time, I'm sure even more live action movies would have done so. Just look at Frozen. $400m for it is astounding. Best performance since Shrek 2. I'd say that's almost the "limit" for now. |

*bump* 130 opening. If it's a 5-day opening it'll do a tad more. Considering it'll probably be released in November/December 500 million would be in play. |

It is a female-driven film, so it won't open over $100m. I'll go with $85m opening and great legs leading to another $400m total. |
