Re: Frozen 2 predictions
It seems like they went in a few bolder darker directions instead of just fan servicing and repeating the first movie. So I would guess this hurts its max upside.

Re: Frozen 2 predictions
The song(s) played a large part in the original's success plus it being the first AAA Disney princess movie since Beauty and the Beast (1991). Still, it should definitely get to the $448M of Frozen (adj). https://m.the-numbers.com/box-office-re ... n-adjusted

Looks like China is looking at a 50m opening, which is more than the first made in its run there total.

Re: Frozen 2 predictions
ViewerAnon who see all the movies early has this to say after seeing the movie. Quote: I'm really curious to see FROZEN II's legs. The kids in the audience I saw it with seemed pretty bored during the second half. That said PS is strong. Especially saturday sales. Previews dont look that big. AMC just has half the shows that Joker had and NYC PS seem weak. But saturday number is crazy strong and it will have great thanksgiving week. After that it will drop hard. I am thinking 130/450m with some OW business spread out to thanksgiving week.

Except kids don't buy the tickets. The parents don't care either, they're not going to say no to their kids when they're clamouring to see it because a bunch of middle aged people in New York thought it wasn't as "spellbinding" as the first film.

Re: Frozen 2 predictions
The soundtrack is pretty good, but I think it lacks the fun, upbeat songs to appeal to kids. Should appeal to Broadway fans, several good ballads and a good production number “Some Things Never Change”.
