reasons for underperformance

-No Taylor Swift song
-Release of Xbox One distracting audiences
-People saving their money for The Hobbit 2
-Male audiences distracted by Call of Duty: Ghosts
-Adult audiences too busy watching Hobbit : Extended Edition and Appendices
-Delivery Man stealing away audiences
-Thor 2, Best Man's Holiday and Last Vegas still drawing in huge crowds
-Most men have subconscious hatred to women so don't want to support a female led film
-JLaw's new haircut turned audiences away
-November is the worst month of the year
-Wes Bentley fans steered clear
-Sam Claflin and Phillip Seymour Hoffman turned audiences away like they did for Pirates 4 and Mission Impossible 3 respectively

should have pulled the MAN OF STEEL strategy and sold millions in tickets to large corporations who would never be able to resell them so they could play it off like the film is more successful than it really is! :D

seriously though if this opens a lot less than The Hunger Games I think exactly why this is happening and how the future movies will do could make an interesting discussion

The release of both PS4 and XBox consoles is a legitimate point in competition for audience that could spread it out quite a bit over the week. This is the first weekend for both consoles.

The Subway commercials. What the heck was going on with those. Do not use entire parts of the trailer to sell sandwiches.

Exactly. I hope the third part takes place entirely in the capital.

- First film had really good, but not great WOM.

- The marketing kinda didn't stand on its own, it assumed you had to have seen the first film. Compare that to how most successful franchises market the 2nd film with some killer trailers and TV-ads, as a *stand-alone film*.

- Playstation 4 was released on Monday, and Xbox One got released on Friday. Both consoles sold over 1 million units in North-America, in the first 24 hours. Both consoles are hitting hard on the male demographic, which was potential audience for this film. The kind of people who want a new console in the very first day, are also likely to be kind of people who spend the next few days playing it.

Plus Males got duped by the first one like myself and friends

It was still a good movie but I thought it be more action.

How is that silly?

THG exploded with guys as they had a lot of interest?
Do you think THG exploded simply because of the book? No it was the novelty and hook about the actual games themselves. Kids killing kids.

Interest wane when they learn it was more YA film.

Yes many guys like it but the guys I know did not get drawn much into the world.
They likely did not come out as they did for THG.
