it's a bigger drop than Skyfall and the number is not too far off from Skyfall's Thursday

The movie skews younger than Skyfall. Maybe that's why it had a bigger drop on a non-holiday Tuesday.

It will ball behind Skyfall during the week. But I think Thor's Friday increase will be better than Skyfall's (136%).

since it is playing like a family film it should recover on Saturday however for a film like this you want good weekdays as well especially when a juggernaut is going to open in your third weekend. I wonder if Marvel will decide not to release films outside of summer anymore

It's all over 1924.

Marvel Studios shut down today after these Tuesday numbers. They couldn't deal with the agony. I mean if Thor 2 can only do $5M on its first Tuesday, Avengers 2 is screwed.

It's easy: average drop over 50% if you do the math. Slightly more due to thanksgiving.

Thor 2 was not going to be very leggy and its opening was okish. Still it will cross $200m. Looks like Star Wars will stay in Top 10 afterall :P
