Star Trek into Darkness' performance reminded me that we haven't done these in a while. Imagine how great a prediction it would have been if someone had said that STID would open to less than its predecessor over the three-day weekend?

Anyway, let's do the rest of the summer. Gutsy calls for domestic box-office only!

Mine:

1. Fast & Furious 6 will top $250 million
2. World War Z won't reach $110 million
3. The Heat will gross more than $200 million
4. Despicable Me 2 will gross $100+ million more than The Lone Ranger in total
5. Red 2 will open bigger than R.I.P.D.
6. 2 Guns will become Denzel Washington's highest-grossing film
7. Kick-Ass 2 will top $80 million
8. You're Next will open to $25+ million
9. Grown Ups 2 won't get to $100 million
10. The Heat and White House Down will combine to more than $100 million in their opening weekend

I actually made one way back in January - IM3 500M domestic.

Of your 10, I'm most confident with #4.

1. Fast Six's total > $250m
2. Despicable Me 2's total > $400m
3. Monster's University opening + World War Z's opening > $170m
4. R.I.P.D's total < $50m
5. After Earth's opening > $70m

Not sure how gutsy some of these are, but whatever.

If it wasn't for all the low predictions around here I'd consider this very likely. Can explain to me why most people have this barely outgrossing Brave?

Because I don't think Monsters Inc. is that hugely beloved film on the scale of Toy Story. Not sure the audiences are demanding a sequel.

I feel like a MONSTERS INC. 2 would be more appealing to audiences than a prequel.
