The 2nd weekend of Iron Man 3 will mean that The Great Gatsby doesn't open to much. The controversy of Iron Man 3 and also the praise for it will make it #1 (obviously) but also the buzz surrounding it will make new releases go under the radar. |

What makes me think that Gatsby is breaking out the most is the fact that the book is reaching its highest levels on best-sellers lists since it was released. Was #2 this past week, will probably be #1 next week. |

Buzz for Gatsby seems pretty high - I keep hearing people my age buzz about it...not sure where it lands for OW though. Could see as low as $20 million, but as high as $45 million. |

I didn't say there wouldn't be enough moviegoers to go around. I said that Iron Man 3's popularity/controversy will still be strong in its 2nd weekend therefore The Great Gatsby will not reach the heights that have been predicted in this thread ($40m, lol). Peeples will gross more because it goes for a different type of moviegoer. |

I think it makes 30-35 because of Leo. It will finish second. IM3 will probably drop over 60% like most fanboy films. |

Sure, blacks go and see Iron Man 3, but they will easily drop it in favour of a movie made by a brother. I can't see whites dropping IM3 for Leonardo DiCaprio in a period set borefest. |
