Post Screen Counts and Crowd Reports for May 10-12
Will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful
Will you still love me when I've got nothing but my aching soul
I know you will, I know you will, I know that you will
Will you still love me when I'm no longer beautiful?

Just bought Great Gatsby tickets for Friday night at the Arclight in La Jolla. It's a 21+ screening so it has a majority of seats taken already.

I love that song. :wub2:

A friend of mine wants me to wait a couple of weekends to see it with them :whaa:. I'm not so sure I can do that.

The parallels between Gatsby and other female driven films that delivered huge Fridays are really piling up. Feeling like a $20m OD might be the minimum.

:noway: 20 million would be nuts. I think I'll expect 11-13 for now just to keep expectations down.

Magic Mike did 420 total for its midnights.

The Great Gatsby
10:30PM at Regal Union Square Stadium 14
100% Full (Sold Out)

Trailers were for: Gravity, August: Osage County, Epic, The Hangover Part III, Rush, Fast Five

The theater was absolutely INSANE tonight. I would have NEVER expected a crowd as big as the one that was there for this movie. It was no joke as busy as when I saw Hunger Games or Harry Potter at midnight - a line around the block to get in, etc. I'm definitely expecting a huge opening now. I'm still completely shocked at how crowded it was.

I hope the trailer for Osage County is online tomorrow.

Gatsby will probably have a really big Friday but could be fairly front-loaded, like Magic Mike.

Gatsby is at 475 and there is still an hour to go according to notfabio.

The twitter response so far has been INSANE. Everything I've read has been overly positive.

Very positive response on my Facebook. A few even mentioning that you should see it in 3D.

I never understand why theaters put these kinds of movies in only one screen around me, never makes sense...

That is the case around me.

Those 3D sellouts are impressive; could be the visuals are selling people on the format.
