Re: May 10-12 Predictions The 2nd weekend of Iron Man 3 will mean that The Great Gatsby doesn't open to much. The controversy of Iron Man 3 and also the praise for it will make it #1 (obviously) but also the buzz surrounding it will make new releases go under the radar.

Iron Man won't have the WOM that The Avengers had. It won't be nearly as leggy. Plus most will have seen it by next weekend. Gatsby will also be helped by the fact it's Mother's Day weekend.

I said that Iron Man 3's popularity/controversy will still be strong in its 2nd weekend therefore The Great Gatsby will not reach the heights that have been predicted in this thread ($40m, lol). Peeples will gross more because it goes for a different type of moviegoer.

People are pissed about the Mandarin thing, so people will want to check it out. Sure, blacks go and see Iron Man 3, but they will easily drop it in favour of a movie made by a brother.
