Sounds about right, although Flight's heavily adult audience would mean a $6M opening day is probs more like $18M for the weekend. |

If FLIGHT has the same multiplier as ARGO it's closer to $20m... |

Beautiful numbers for all three films. Keeps up the tradition of smashing November kick-offs. Ralph will hold up very well the next two weekends too. Probably as sub 25% drop next weekend. |

I wonder how TE2 is doing. Great for Ralph. Looks like my prediction is dead on. |

That is great for Flight. With great reviews and Denzel I knew it would open big. Makes you wonder how much more it would have made with a bigger theater count. |

BOM's having it's once-per-fortnight technical fuck up. They need to get their act together or shut down altogether. |

Excellent opening days for Wreck-It Ralph and Flight. Weekends should reach the neighborhood of $50M and $25M, respectively. Man with the Iron Fists even made a bit of an impact, although it will likely be frontloaded. Another gravity-defying hold for Argo considering the direct competition from Flight. |

ERC's $21 million guesstimate seems way too conservative for Flight. It would have to stay flat on Saturday for that to happen, which I highly doubt. It's in for a pretty great weekend. |

Pretty darn good for Fists. It will top The Warrior's Way's total in its first 3 days. |

Flight is the real winner of this weekend and though Ralph did good it is in the expected category IMO. I don't think it is an amazing number given the empty market, but then again we don't know how much impact did Sandy has on its opening weekend. |

Post subject: | Re: Friday Estimates (11/2 - 11/4) |
Sandy would have affected Ralph's weekend more than Flight's because parents are more caring over their children than adults are over themselves. Other than that, though, kids have just been given Hotel Transylvania, so they have been catered for recently, and for Ralph to still make a great opening day is testament to its popularity. As Jack Sparrow said, Flight is the true winner here, though, because it's making a normal Denzel opening in terms of gross, but it's doing it on a theater count of 50%. |

Actually kids are the most under-served this time cause HT is a September movie and I don't think Frankenweenie made any impact at BO even that was the first week of October. |

It is grating to see BoxOffice.com describe The Man with the Iron Fists' opening as quote-unquote in the neighborhood of Ninja Assassin and The Warrior's Way when in fact it is well lower than the former and notably stronger than the latter. |
