Same summer as Avengers 2 --> Disney's quest for world dominance.

Still can't believe they'll get this out in <3 years.

who knows will really depend on a lot of factors. Could do anywhere from 300-600 domestically and 1-2 billion WW. They need to get a good director and figure out what direction for the films. Will they go into the future with and old Luke? Or go before the Prequels existed?

From the press release:

Quote:
In 2015, we're planning to release Star Wars Episode 7 – the first feature film under the "Disney-Lucasfilm" brand. That will be followed by Episodes 8 and 9 – and our long term plan is to release a new Star Wars feature film every two to three years.

So it definitely won't stop with Episode 9...

Very excited about this. Hopefully it won't be too kiddie, maybe on the maturity level of Pirates at least, lol :)

Imagine how the WW All-Time Top Ten will look like with movies like AVENGERS 2, STAR WARS 7 and maybe AVATAR 2 coming out in 2015?

I think all 3 will combine for around 4-5 billion dollars lol

This new SW films will be massive, when is the release date???

Wow TA2 and SW in one year for Disney...

I express some caution to the SW estimates however looking at the Prequels...

Adjusted they are all massive hits and would blow past 500 million in 3D in 2015 prices...

Wait WHAT.

What is happening, when did this happen. I'm so confused. There's another Star Wars coming?

I've yet to see an announcement for this. Considering the prequel trilogy has damaged the Star Wars brand, I am not expecting as big of a total as The Phantom Menace. It only has 3 years to build up hype, which was nothing compared the TPM's 16 year build-up. At this stage, that's all I can comment on. Need to see more. Not looking forward to it. Lucas is one greedy mother fucker.

Oh come on. There's no way a movie can make that when the SIX predecessors couldn't.

That was 8 years ago man. Yeah, good find

And I think my prediction was so much closer to what it actually made than what Rev's prediction is - I mean, come on, $250m opening. That is crazy. Nothing can make that.

Well remember that even AOTC will adjust to near 500 million with 3D by 2015....
