The international trailer has been released. The film opens via 20th Century Fox on October 5th, opposite Tim Burton's Frankenweenie, the musical comedy Pitch Perfect, and the Ethan Hawke-led supernatural horror film Sinister. |

I think the trailer does a really good job at not making the premise seem retarded, thinking $60-65m at this point. |

I voted in the 40-45 range. I'm staying conservative for now, but I wouldn't be suprised if it did go higher. Liam Nesson's appeal should not be underestimated, especially when he is back playing a iconic role. He was already able to turn a R-rated, indie, survival thriller into a $50M+ hit, so he is definitely at the peak of his drawing power. |

This will do well, but it will have been almost 4 years since the original. I don't think this is automatically doing $50 m + from Taken goodwill. I can see $30's. If this were released within two years of the original, I'd say it could have done $60 m +. But 4 years is a long time for this type of movie imo. |

Taken is nothing special but it was very pleasing movie. You had Liam Nesson doing everything possible to save his daughter and you rooted for him and cheered him on. Add in some epic one liners and some cool action... I think that is the reason why Taken was such a big hit and was so well liked. It has a 7.9 on IMDB which is great for a action flick. |

Taken opened to $24m. There's absolutely no chance in the world this opens to less. |
