The Hunger Games ends up above Spider-Man's adjusted opening weekend. Besides I guess taking the OW record, it achieved everything this weekend.

And even without midnights it would have delivered the seventh, maybe sixth, biggest OW of all-time.

Also, October Baby grossed an est. $1.7 in 390 theaters. If anyone cares.

Very reasonable Sunday projection by Liongate. They could have easily estimated a few millions higher to bear The Dark Knight for even more headlines, but I guess they figured no need any more.

It also means $160m is still in play.

You know. It's rare that I find the "MOTHER OF GOD" image appropriate. But it is here.

$155 million. The third biggest opening of all time. In March. For the first movie in a series. With no 3D surcharges.

So, third biggest OW of all time is assured. If it can manage a Sunday drop under 22%, it could beat TDK for #2. It would have to stay flat on Sunday to beat DH2 for the top spot, and that's not going to happen.

Awesome opening. It'll be fun to see what kind of legs it has.
